Syllabus

Dave Best At Hexham & District Photographic Society we provide a wide ranging syllabus to cater for the varied interests of our members, whatever their expertise or type of photography and photographic equipment they enjoy. Practical aspects of photography are addressed through technical talks, live demonstrations, the use of computer software packages, workshops and image assessment evenings.

We engage an interesting range of speakers, both from inside our Society and externally, to explore the infinite variety of photographic genres, styles and techniques. The advent of live streaming enables us to engage a wider range of speakers from further afield at a reasonable cost to present at our weekly meetings.

This programme is supplemented by a variety of print and PDI competitions throughout the season. This culminates in our annual Society Awards Night, where we invite a photographer of national or international reputation to deliver the keynote address and present the annual awards.

As we are always looking for ideas to keep the syllabus lively and interesting, member suggestions for future content are always invaluable and most welcome. - Dave Best Syllabus Secretary

Welcome back and NCPF Annual results

First Meeting of the Season
We are pleased to begin the new season with a presentation of images captured by members over the summer break. This session will highlight the breadth and creativity within our group, whilst offering a chance to see what everyone’s been up to behind the lens.

Time permitting, we will also screen the official video showcasing the results of the NCPF Annuals Competition, where several of our members’ works were selected for inclusion in the NCPF...
