Image of the Year Competition Results 2019-20

Following the decision by the club committee and council members, that this years traditional Print of the year competition should continue in a digital form the club met via Zoom video conference at 7:30pm Tuesday the 14th April to hear the results and comments from the Judge Jim Welsh of Blyth Photographic Society.   Many thanks go to Jim who did a fantastic job presenting the images providing both a constructive and insightful commentary on all the images submitted. Closure for the remainder of the season

Hexham Abbey

In light of the rapidly changing situation with regard to the spread of the coronavirus and the most recent government advice, Hexham & District Photographic Society has decided to suspend the programme for the rest of the season, including tonight’s meeting at the Torch Centre.  We will therefore postpone the AGM and the Society Awards night until the beginning of next season in September if circumstances have improved sufficiently.   We are currently considering running the Print of the Year Competition digitally so that the entries can be received and judged remotely, in order that we can complete this season’s competitions.  Please let me know if you have any objections to this course of action Read More …

3rd Print Competition Results 2019-2020

The 3rd Print Competition of the season was held on 4th February 2020 at the Torch Centre. The judge for the evening was Alan Porrett from Whitley Bay who had about 70 prints to get through. Externally Judged PDI – 7th Jan 2020

Our inaugural foray into an externally judged PDI competition took place on the 7th January 2020. Our judge for the evening was Malcolm Boyd from Castleside & District PC, where he is extremely busy as Treasurer and Secretary.
