Time-Lapse Photography Kev Hilton Time-lapse photography enables us to see movements that we might otherwise miss, as it speeds up time. Past approaches to time-lapse involved having to take individual photographs at regular points in time and then make them viewable as a movie, almost like a nickelodeon. 1st PDI Competition 2018-19 season

The 1st PDI competition this time is on the theme ‘A Touch of Red‘   This fun competition is open to club members only but the results will be published on this site for all to see.   The interpretation is quite loose so enter anything with RED in your image. Examples are red flowers, signposts, red evening skies, a girl in a red dress will do well! Summer Exhibition 2018 – VOYAGER

Hexham Photographic Society are pleased to announce that our 2018 Summer Exhibition opened this evening, 13th August and will be open daily until Sunday the 26th August.   The theme of this years exhibition is VOYAGER, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the launch of Voyager 1 and 2 on a mission to explore the solar system. To each of the probes was attached a ‘golden record’ containing a message from earth for any extra-terrestrial intelligence that might encounter these messengers. Included was a library of images, encoded in audio format, to give a visual snapshot of our planet and civilisation, a limited glimpse of daily life, the built environment, cultures, landscapes, flora and fauna.   Read More …



Annual Exhibition Commemorative Book

Hexham & District Photographic Societies 2018 Annual Exhibition has been themed “Voyager” to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Voyager 1 and 2 space craft on a mission to explore the solar system.     To commemorate the launch of the Voyager probes, each of which carry a ‘golden record’ with a message containing a library of images giving a snapshot of life on earth, our members have been challenged to produce four images describing life on earth today.
