Calling all eagle-eyed photographers! Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership are looking to produce a calendar for 2018 to showcase the diversity and beauty of the landscape and stations along the line.
We’re inviting budding amateur photographers to capture and submit images of their local station and the line. The subject for the competition is “My Local Station in the Community.” The theme is open to individual interpretation but entries must have the Tyne Valley railway line at their heart. You might choose to depict the railway station in question, focus on a notable element of the station (a footbridge, signalbox etc.), or closely related landscapes.
Entrants can submit up to three photos, in colour or black and white. Scans of hardcopies of historic photos are also permitted. Images need to be captured to a minimum of 300DPI and may be digitally enhanced to remove spots or scratches, but not manipulated.
The image file for each entry should be accompanied by the entrant’s name, address, contact telephone number (both daytime and evening), where and when the photo was taken. Entrants under the age of 12 years need to have parent or guardian consent to enter.
All images are to be electronically submitted to Megan Atkinson by midnight on Friday 15th September 2017.
